Good for you! I took up walking when I decided to quit cigarettes, and I love it. 15 years later, haven't touched (or even wanted) a cigarette, and I'm in better shape than when I was 30.
@jeffstras I've started doing paced walking - my phone does a metronome tick to keep my pace up, and my heart rate up.
@ScottSoCal I listened to a podcast interview with Christopher McDougall recently talking about his follow-up to _Born to Run_. He discussed the idea of paced runnning. I often find myself now with "Rock Lobster" playing in my head while I'm walking... but the phone metronome is a great idea!
@ScottSoCal That's great, Scott! I ran when I was younger, but I enjoy the walking so much more.
