Got my locked and dead car opened up and the battery on a charger. Battery had died last weekend bc my 4 year old turned on a dome light and I hadn’t needed the car so I just left it.

Key slot was jammed up, too, because I never use it. But lots of silicon lubricant later, I’m in.

Felt like a thief in my hoodie in the pouring rain trying to break into my own car! Heh

My hybrid sat in the garage for a 2 week business trip, then another week of vacation. It didn't like that. I hit the unlock, the center display came on long enough to show "Battery low - entering shutdown mode" and everything died. It took me four hours to figure out how to get into the car, then get into the trunk, so I could put a charger on it.

@ScottSoCal yeah, that’s rough. I didn’t want mine sitting for more than a week even if I don’t necessarily need to use it.

I was fully ready to crawl through my trunk, but it’s a sedan and I have two carseats in the back. They weren’t budging.

On a plus side, I found out that I have a hidden keyhole on the underside of my trunk lip, above the license plate. I’ve only owned the car for 10 years without knowing, nbd.
