I don't know if this belongs here or not - it was my cheat project. When we bought our current house we needed a buffet for this niche in the dining room, but couldn't find anything we liked and fit and could afford. So I cheated. 3 custom kitchen cabinets screwed together, and I built the top and base out of a matching maple. I thought it would do until we found something. That was 20 years ago.

@ScottSoCal
It's a lovely piece of furniture.

(And I can also tell from the placement of the objects that you do not own a cat or have small children.)

@ScottSoCal well done!!! I have kept several pieces of furniture I made because I couldnโ€™t afford a custom thing or couldnโ€™t find the perfect thing. Yes, theyโ€™ve been demoted to less prominent positions over the years, but I love them all the more for that memory of creativity and problem solving. But yours actually looks really good!

@ScottSoCal The problem here is you did too good a job. If it looked like a hack, you might have been more motivated to replace it. (It looks great.)

@ScottSoCal Scalziโ€™s book about the alternate dimensions & kaiju is awesome ๐Ÿ˜Ž

@voron Kaiju Preservation Society, or something like that. I *loved* that book!
It's in my kindle, I may need to read it again. Right now I'm reading Suzie Spitfire Kills Everyone.

@12thRITS

No. The center of the top is a very heavy piece of 3/4" (1.9cm) thick glass. Over the years, the weight of it has caused that curve.
As I said, it was supposed to be a make-do until we found something better. ๐Ÿ˜‰

@ScottSoCal Cool happened to me and now I know I am not the only one #hacks

@ScottSoCal love the see more, hear no, speak no gargoyles! And the cupboard is pretty awesome too
