Ron DeSantis scares me more than the others, because he's got all the bigoted evil of Trump, but can form complete sentences and walk down a ramp without assistance. He's a semi-functional Donnie, and so is capable of succeeding, where TFG failed.

@ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow
Agreed. Trump is imminently corrupt and venal but his motivation invariably is greed and narcissistic needs. Very predictable.

DeSantis is corrupt and venal but he is ideological and competent. He is also willing to use his regime against political opponents, private businesses, marginalized groups, and individual citizens. He put Florida in danger financially by waging war on his investment group for supporting social and environmental projects. He's willing to sacrifice every Floridian to COVID in order to cherry pick his surgeon general based on his ideology alone. And Floridians will lie down in droves and die for him. All this regardless of whether it is legal or even constitutional; he flouts the courts and law.

Florida is a fascist petri dish of what the Nation will become if a Republican wins.

@DroidEngineer @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow

You'd think some folks would've learned after seeing Texans die during a blizzard because the conservatives in power chose deregulation over people.

@BikeyBike @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow
Exactly. Or when responding to calls to address mass school shootings, the TX governor sends out DNA kits to families so they can identify their child after high-powered rounds have exploded their body.

@DroidEngineer @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow

New on the Miller Analogies: Trump is to DeSantis as Mussolini is to ????

@DroidEngineer @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow Yes you are quite right. (I assume imminently corrupt is a typo, since it means something that will come in time and he's already corrupt, and you meant immanently.)

@BGAtlanta @DroidEngineer @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow

Yeah I'm sure eminently was what was meant. But immanently would work: "immanent: remaining within; indwelling; inherent."

@JohnShirley2023 @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow
Hey, that's a good catch! You are right; it is a typo: I meant eminently.

I would certainly be wrong to imply his corruption is to come at some point in the future. :)

@DroidEngineer @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow
Deathsantis is a coward and runs from the press. He will completely lose his shit on a big stage. Watch.

@GatekeepKen @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow
I think you are right. The unreality that the right-wing ecosystem has created cannot stand up to truth, which is why republicans have cancelled non-partisan debates, banned non-partisan media from their events.
They have a huge propaganda network (fox) that actively colludes and conspires with sitting members of the government to defraud the American people. And in so doing, are able to pass legislature based on demonstrably provable lies (any "voter integrity" law, don't say gay, anti-trans, etc) which they then use as the very evidence to support them. It's a form of circular reasoning.

1) Cruz,Hawley,etc goes on Fox spouting election lies and "just asking questions."
2) Republican voters are furious and want action.
3) Cruz et al then offers legislature to remedy the "problem."
4) When asked why they are pushing election lies they cite their constituents' anger (of the election lies they told them).

@GatekeepKen @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow

Here's a real-time update. The assertion I made about Fox being a propaganda network that colludes and conspires with republican gov't officials? We already knew about Hannity/Carlson et al's propaganda work for republicans through released text messages.

From the latest filing from Dominion in the Fox defamation lawsuit:

"During Trump's campaign, Rupert provided Kushner with confidential information about Biden's ads, along with debate strategy."

A "News Network" giving confidential information from a politician's ad campaign and testing help to that politician's opponent.

At the highest levels, Rupert Murdoch, Lachlan Murdoch, CEO they've actively participated to deceive and defraud the American people by colluding with one extreme political party and presenting their wrapped-up, polished propaganda as news.

For the breaking news and details, see Teri Kanefield's excellent analysis.

I agree 100% , Teri is spot on too .I read her take eariler. Giving info to Kushner is beyond the pale ..I believe this is enemy number one.
They taint are Troops, Police and Ex Military and well as the older susceptible indidviduals , like 3/4 of Florida.. If there was a better term for propagandist , I'd say Enemy of the State.

@GatekeepKen @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow

There is NO WAY any fascist politician, corrupt and lying MAGA traitor, or violent street gang could get away with anything they do or make claims to if it weren't for the ignoring, disinformation, whitewashing, and outright deception through....

*thumbs thru dictionary: "information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view."*

...right, through propaganda.

@DroidEngineer @GatekeepKen @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow

Mostly.

Don't underestimate the degree to which the villains of the world can see someone like Trump, immediately intuit that the rise of such a person is good for the villain in many ways, and to just jump into the game to make their play.

It's like this: when Trump started talking about Hunter Biden being some kind of nefarious agent, or raising fear uncertainty and doubt about our voting institutions, the Mike Lindells of the world weren't responding to propaganda. They were recognizing a grift, and seeing a benefit from themselves for being the one to seize upon it. Trump was basically making pleas to someone, anyone, to build upon these fabrications in order to give his claims enough traction to become something that could be mutually exploited for villainous purpose, and indeed many folks did exactly that.

When Trump told the cops they didn't need to protect the heads of criminals when shoving them into cop cars, there were a lot of cops out there who went 'aha'. They weren't propagandized. They were predators recognizing a once in a lifetime opportunity to get behind someone that would let them run absolutely wild.

Basically anyone in power who's corrupt and worried about being outed as a narco or a pedo or a garden variety embezzler understands that to embrace MAGA is in their own self interest. The more pull they bring to the table, the more likely it is that the Trumps of the world will value them and take steps to protect them if their little pecadilloes start to get out.

So in these cases this crap is less propaganda from on high, and more a participatory narrative woven by many hands, each for their own self serving purposes. That's how you get someone like Lindell suddenly horning into the public discussion with nonsense like 'antifa sluts seducing patriotic Americans and then using mind control on them to riot in the Senate'. It'd be hilarious if lives didn't hang in the balance.

Trump isn't the top of the pyramid.He's the second level.He was the great enabler.Mr Confusion
He dropped all the guardrails and rules,allowed his pay for play friends to climb up the to the top. His business is based on catch me if you can, paper trails and fake corporations. He gutted the government by firing anyone that would tell on him Four years of grifting is all it took to overturn our courts and judicial sysytem.

@GatekeepKen @resonancewright @ScottSoCal

Trump showed us how much of our government functions on decorum and tradition and how an unethical and amoral person, with the help of a corrupt and complicit political party, can within a single term, bring a democracy to the brink of its destruction.

None of it could have been successful in the way is or have the support of so many people in the country if it weren't for the intentional, systematic deception and propaganda from Fox.

@resonancewright @GatekeepKen @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow
I agree with you. One of the largest failures in my predictions around this was my inability to imagine how many people and groups would actually support anti-democratic action.

I think you are absolutely right that people saw this grift and wanted to join. Birds of a feather, right? They also shared a delusion that somehow Trump would treat them differently and not throw them under the bus. There were sooo many opportunists from Manafort to Stone to Bannon to Miller, some motivated by greed, others motivated by proximity to power that would allow them to enforce their ideology.

Just like world authoritarians always support each other, even though they're geographically and ideologically different, Republicans will accept anyone or any group that offers them the chance to get power. While there is much self-interested dealings going on, I think it's the 24/7 propaganda that provides "plausible" cover for the evil men do.

@GatekeepKen @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow

Fox is forbidding their hosts to talk about it and they are even forbidding any external entity to use their network to talk about it. They are forbidding a commercial being played on their network covering their lies and deceptions, that thing we call propaganda.

@DroidEngineer @GatekeepKen @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow MoveOn should run the ad on NewsMax, Info Wars, Ben Shapiro, and the Bannon War room instead. They can also place the ad on right wing sites like Drudge & Breitbart. It’s a worth effort to try and penetrate the siloed right wing media ecosystem.

@DroidEngineer @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow Ron is a idiot led around by his wife and Nazi groups like Thomas

@DroidEngineer @ScottSoCal @therobburgessshow
It is the tip of the spear, if he becomes President, the country dies in short order.
