Because the GQP is terrified by the idea of white people being a minority of the population. They're afraid they'll be treated the way they treat all the not-white/cis/straight/christian people now.
They only want white babies to be in better supply.
"Cracker" is an insult. The insult was used used BY slave owners to refer to non slave owning farmers. (Who were all white)
