@fonecokid This one gets talked about on both the left and right pretty commonly. The degree of separation talked about varies from person to person, but the general idea that there should be functionally "two Americas with two different sets of laws" is becoming increasingly popular.
Left wing and Right wing people are increasingly segregating themselves by state, so even if there isn't a secession on a federal level, it may well be that soon the laws in heavily right-wing states look very different from laws in heavily left-wing states, as opposed to today's "yeah the laws are more or less uniform, with minor exceptions such as marijuana/abortion/taxation laws."
