Sometimes I get the urge to write. An idea unfolds and it refuses to go away until I've written it out. I'm on Chapter 3 of what will be my fourth novel. The first was fantasy. The second two were science fiction. This one is an LGBT romance.
And, somehow, even when other people read them, tell me they love them, tell me I should publish them, I can't get up the nerve to do it. Writing is too important to me to have someone else crap on it. Maybe someone will find them after I'm dead.

Speaking from personal experience, no.
Yeah, it sucks HARD when someone craps all over something you put hours upon hours into making.
But it ain’t for them. It’s for the others, the ones who genuinely enjoy what you do.
The hardest part is always finding those people who like your stuff, the ones who are vocal about it.
Stories are made to be enjoyed but they can only BE enjoyed if you let them out into the world.
