the debt ceiling is designed to create crisis on command. Congress sets the limit and the budget, no one else is responsible for this mess.
I'm not surprised Republicans are the only ones willing to use it this way, it speaks to exactly who they are.
The debt ceiling is also a manufactured crisis that violates constitutional mandates, but it serves a purpose for the GQP, so they embrace it.
