I love EDM but sometimes the lyrics and feel of the song brings my mood down. Heard bits of 2 sad EDM songs today that had that effect.
Motown always puts me in a good mood. So does my more motivational rock playlist.

I don't know about absorb what's in the music, but those times I can't figure out what I'm feeling, the music I listen to tells me a lot.
