An etiquette question:
How do people feel about posts in here being boosted? If I understand the whole Mastodon thing, boosting it puts it in front of anyone who follows my (as an example) posts and boosts. Many of them aren't associated with this #ActuallyAutistic mob. Is that OK? Is that a faux pas? I don't know what to think.
@ScottSoCal @actuallyautistic that lil circular arrow icon is the core of mastodon as thereβs no backend automated dopamine dispensing code here. I donβt use it on every post I interact with, but most. Once this platform hits a critical mass, I will likely dial down how often I use it.
I feel flattered and happy when I'm boosted. I take it as a sign that I've written something others find interesting and want to share with their community.
@ScottSoCal @actuallyautistic
My simple go to is, if I feel it would benifit or be of interest to anyone else I boost. If it's a question I don't know the answer to, I boost. If I just think someone may enjoy it, I boost. Whilst for me being boosted feels like someone's valuing me.
@actuallyautistic
OK, from now on I boost here the same way I do out in the big, wild, wooly world of Mastodon.
