@servelan @johnettesnuggs @Adventurer @hellomiakoda @ScottSoCal @actuallyautistic @neurodiversity @Tooden @markusl @sentient_water I have read (but have not personally confirmed) that sensory issues are now listed as part of the diagnostic criteria -- as they should be.

@hosford42 @servelan @Adventurer @hellomiakoda @ScottSoCal @actuallyautistic @neurodiversity @Tooden @markusl @sentient_water sensory issues are a huge part of my difficulty. Fluorescent lights, both the buzzing and just the light itself bothers me. Certain fabrics, smells, tastes textures, I just can’t stand. I shop by touch, and usually eat the same things every day. My mom worried bc I wanted the same lunch every day. PB&J(had to be JIF) apple, chips ahoy (again, had to be) cookies.

With foods, I have a whole list of "it must be" and "must never be" things.

Must be Best Foods mayonnaise
Must be Jif Extra Crunchy PB
Must never be 'red delicious' apples

I can go on and on.

Same. As a kid if my mom “tried something different” usually bc it was on sale, I just wouldn’t eat. I could tell if it was different. I only liked her homemade jelly, so when I got older, and she stopped making jelly, I quit eating jelly. It used to drive her crazy.
