Have my #ActuallyAutistic comrades ever been told that they βwalk autisticallyβ?

I walk on my toes if I'm barefoot, and sometimes with my house shoes. My primary boots are just too big and heavy, deliberately big and heavy, for any sort of toe stepping.
I used to do the same thing, without realizing it. I couldn't wear skinny jeans, or zip up a pair of knee-high boots I got for a costume, because my calves were too big. I also started wearing boots, because it's impossible to walk that way.
That sort of puts stepping on a Lego into perspective. My whole body clenched when I read that.

Oh, I wear boots because when I was a child... I used to wear open toed sandals or flip flops all the time... I was on a road trip with my mother, and at a truck stop, I saw a chunk of tire and decided to kick it for some reason. I learned the hard way what "steel belted" means. The steel went over an inch in to my foot. I've worn heavy boots, usually steel caps, ever since.
