@AutisticAdam @actuallyautistic I'm wondering what "adapt" means. Some sure want to respect my needs to some degree and don't push me when I say I'm overwhelmed or they agree to meet me alone somewhere quiet.

My husband wants to be supportive, but he's the one rolling his eyes when I say a place is too crowded/loud etc or when I'm upset about a disturbance of routines or change of plans.

A few days ago I started to tell hubs about something that had made me really angry, then I stopped and said "Just letting you know, this is not the time to tell me I over reacted, or roll your eyes." I told him, he didn't downplay it, and it actually turned into a good conversation (not an argument) about the times he *has* been dismissive.
