but if "autistic energy" is a separate thing from other forms of personal "drive" or "commitment"? I would say no.

Autistics and ADHDers may have more "drive" and hyperfocus may push them to dedicate more time to a task but I wouldn't say they have more "energy" than others.

it's a bit "othering" IMHO. If an NT has drive and ambition they are "driven" or "committed" or "dedicated" but if an ND has similar drive and ambition it's simply fobbed off as "hyperfocus autistic energy"

but that's just my (probably incorrect) take on the matter ;D

I had a boss try to give me crap because I was *totally*pumped* about my first manageable switch. He came by my office and watched me, then started razzing me about being too excited over network hardware. I asked if he'd rather the LAN manager didn't care about the network? Would that be better for him? He shut up and left.
