politics--what replaces the republican party?
Hopefully, we can consider the republicans toast. Nothing else trump ever led survived.
I've been calling myself a Socialist Libertarian since the mid-90s. I believe in prioritizing civil liberties, but using taxes to smooth the harsh edges off capitalism. Plus fix the damn environment already.
Why not? We can dream, right?

@Uair @actuallyautistic Libertarian if only because they aren't Republicans and have brand recognition. Gods forbid the Green party ever offer a candidate we can vote for.
The word 'socialism' has so much negative connotation that I doubt any party using it for a name would get buried in ignorance.
Personally I would prefer parties be replaced by policies...tell me who I'm voting for, since voting for a Democrat anymore seems to have an equal chance of electing a Republican running as a Democrat. Get rid of the tribes and people will have to find some other way to make their decisions...some of them will choose to be informed.

When it wasn't shorthand for "I don't like antidiscrimination laws."
