The following is a survey asking for the language preferences of Autistic and non-Autistic people regarding autism.

It is open to Autistic and non-Autistic people for the benefit of comparison.

I will also be using the preference results of Autistic people on the "neurodiversity: the basics" page of my website.

Please do fill this out and RT it, I would like to get at least 1000 responses.

Some of these questions made me go "Hmmmmm...". Indeed, why _do_ we use "disorder" instead of "condition". "Disorder" implies a malfunction, "condition" implies a state of being.

@Fizzfizzpopop I'm also in the difference uhmm... "faction" 🀣 Honestly, there are distinct differences & they're not necessarily better or worse universally across every situation πŸ€”

Sometimes the differences are an advantage, for either having or not having...

Sometimes they're a challenge... again for if you have or don't have >>> that particular difference.

I use my differences in positive ways to help me achieve things that someone who doesn't have those differences* would really struggle... *super sensitive hearing, movement detection, nuanced sense of smell, skin sensitivity, hyper focus, hyper memory recall, face blindness, echolalia, hyper mobile joints, autistic stoicism, low oxytocin, naturally high serotonin...

People often say they would love to do what I do... but the reality is they wouldn't actually enjoy it πŸ€£πŸ’

It takes decades to learn to use the differences, and apply them when and where they're appropriate.
Hyperfocus is useful when I'm cranking something out on a deadline. Not as useful when I'm at home, watching TV, and the hubs wants to tell me something, but I don't even hear him.
