trying to figure out which version of Lynch's Dune is the "definitive" one and hooboy people HATE that film

@theoutrider i'm not sure which version is the one i have, it's just like the basic bluray release. but it's always a fun ride.
@Shadejackrabbit I'm wondering whether to try the extended version in English (only ever seen it in German but the extended scenes were in English because they were never dubbed) and running into a lot of different forums with people going "so which version is better" and the response being almost unanimously "they're all awful, just read the book"
which seems overly harsh
