@streetvalkyrie@radical.town most Canadians i've talked to are pretty friendly about America/Americans in general, so the distaste is sympathetic.

I don't think I really know any Canadians who hate America as much as i do, honestly. Like, my folks are still very "but America keeps world peace", stuff like that. I'm also not fond of my own country. But there is definitely, generally speaking, an intense sympathy for how much it sucks down there.

In short: I don't think you'd see any real animosity up here.
