Saw Johnny Mnemonic for the first time last night. I don't get why that movie was hated by critics. The style is really cool and even that aside the film is ok. It's not great and has writing problems but hardly an awful film.

@fillertrack It came out at a time where people either expected Star Wars or high-concept SF, and weird campiness was only acceptable in some narrow genre ranges.

@fillertrack Strange Days suffered a similar fate, and that's a legit good fucking movie, but it's kind of cyberpunk so nobody liked it.
