Hot take: I hate the term "USians".

I get it, American is a bad term to refer to members of only one country in the entire two continents named America.

But could we come up with something that isn't a portmanteau incorporating an initialism? I always mentally read it as "oosh-yans" and that sounds like something from a planet where the dominant species has no bones.
