I'm trying Omega Rebirth and I can actually get help (?) here

So far my favorite roguelikes are ADOM, Umoria and Brogue. I kinda forgot how to play Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup but I like ADOM feeling accessible in terms of controls with how it shows you recommended actions, a list of common actions and quick controls

How deep is this cave? It's like the second cave you can enter and I can't reach the bottom because i reach a point where the enemies are so overwhelming in numbers that going back up the stairs is basically impossible

WHY DO ENEMIES KEEP POPPING UP IN THE DUNGEON, I GET SCREWED OVER BY ENEMIES SHOWING UP ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A HALLWAY

I'm playing ADOM and I got really invested in a fight my dwarf paladin was having against a nest of giant ants (bloody hell they're hard to kill)

Okay I hate the dumb "up in air" inventory system

Shame I can't figure figure out which is the '?' key here so my understanding of the controls depends on trial and error.
