I was just informed that the Guardian is prepping to do a story on DIY HRT and is looking to interview trans folk, particularly teens.
The story will almost certainly be weaponized by conservatives to argue for removing access to the necessary materials.
Just like with the police, anything you say can and will be used against you by mainstream media.
Be safe out there fam
@LunaFoxgirlVT i'm so freaking happy you put all this into words.
its so much unseen effort, and everyone expects it from you so you can't stop even when you really really need or want to, masking is hard and social interaction is confusing and abstract. :/
Some landscape renders made with Bryce 3D come by on Mastodon this week and it reminded me of the first landscape renderer I used: VistaPro.
It was was one of many DOS programs on the "Virtual Reality Madness" compilation disc from 1993. VistaPro also came out on Amiga and Mac OS, and later Windows.
VistaPro (v1.01) didn't give you much control but the results looked stunning then, if you allowed your computer to render the highest quality image for a few hours that is.
Did you know? I curate a gallery of procedural artworks by various demosceners β each piece was rendered by an executable program no larger than 4096 bytes:
thanks to @gord for this excellent idea

@njion you just reminded me of that video where a guy REWRITTEN AND OPTIMIZED ALMOST ALL OF THE SM64 CODE so it runs at some insane frame rate at original hardware
Her: "K, you're a homeowner with 100% equity, why are you rooting for a housing market crash?"
Me: "That's exactly why I'm rooting for it. I own this pile of wood and bricks, and the land it's on, outright. Long as the property taxes get paid, I'm beyond the reach of capitalism's attempt to enslave me under threat of homelessness. Unless I sell the place, I never have to think about rent or the market again. So fuck the investors, let their assets depreciate, so my friends and family can maybe afford to join me in escaping the rental treadmill."
The whole model of taxing "income" is wrong. We need to tax Wealth, not Income. Because the ones who desperately need taxing aren't the working folk.
Incidentally, in Canada there is a tax rebate called the "Canada Workers Benefit" (previously "Working Income Tax Benefit") which returns several thousand dollars to those within the bracket. It's a tiny band-aid step in the right direction, to lighten the tax load on those who are working for it, but the whole system needs to change.
Little Kitty, Big City has got an actual launch date at last and itβs only three weeks away
Holy shit. Google fired 28 workers for protesting against its $1.2 billion contract with the IDF. Solidarity with these workers of conscience.
