Apple-the-Company pulling the same "We've got a monopoly in this space and can screw you" crap:

"Apple will be applying their 30% App Store fee to all new memberships purchased in the Patreon iOS app, in addition to anything bought in your Patreon shop."

"Apple has also made clear that if creators on Patreon continue to use unsupported billing models or disable transactions in the iOS app, we will be at risk of having the entire app removed from their App Store."

It's happening, people. Google Chrome is moving to the Manifest V3 framework. If you haven't transitioned to a different browser yet, now's the time to do so.

A decent alternative is Firefox with uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger, and if you want to go for full privacy-awareness, I've heard good things about LibreWolf:

and Floorp:

A member of one of my Discord groups told me of the unrest in #Venezuela . I was going to image copy her post, but now they have started scanning people's phones, so I will repost without her name. She first commented on July 29, 2024.

things user/profile systems fuck up, bad assumptions
- the user will never delete their account
- the user should be expected to individually delete their posts
- the user will never change their legal name
- the user will never change their email address
- the user will never change their phone number
- if they do change those things, surely they will think to use our change info ui before getting rid of their old name/phone number/email address
- the same as above, but with SSO linkages

english (lit): to me that is as valuable as cucumbers

SUPER SPANISH: IT IMPORTS MI UN PEPPER

I reached a new level of Pagliacci'ing myself: I googled something and got exactly one result: ME.

petition to rename "width" to "widgth" for monospace consistency with "height" and "length"

It has been 0️⃣days since a website served me a completely blank page because it uses JavaScript to reinvent bog standard HTML poorly.

I was wondering why Discord wasn't launching at startup so I decided to look into the Task Manager's Startup tab.

Wasn't really seeing anything so I went to Discord's User Settings > Windows Settings > Open Discord and toggled that. One of the icons on task manager disappeared.

Turns out the Discord task at startup is called "update", has the default icon and is published by GitHub?

Now that it's out and many people have had a chance to play #kitsunetails, who is your favorite character? Also, if you'd like to say what you liked about the character, I'd love to hear that feedback, too, though CW with spoilers if there's a spoiler in it, please

Apologies in advance for not having a 6th option for Yuzu's dad, Yasunori, so if he's your favorite, reply saying so, and vote "results", I guess

theres a quake mod that adds a hammer that lets you do like, hammer jumps (like rocket jumps, but u hit the ground with the hammer)
they called it bonk jam and i just want to suggest that instead it should have been called "getting over it with john romero"
