I am "on" all the time now, with the kid. Just… running from one chore to the next, planning this, cooking that, cleaning something. So it was just so good to have one little drink, a giant bucket of popcorn, and nothing to do but watch a fun-dumb movie for a couple of hours.

Beer is also good.

I got a few hours baby-free yesterday and watched Pacific Rim Uprising with my husband for his birthday. It was good. I also had a beer.

Ah cool. The baby is going through another "Wonder Week". This one is where he learns about sequences… like that one thing needs to happen before another (underwear BEFORE pants!) So I'll see some cool new abilities soon.

But first I'll see clinginess and whinging because these Wonder Weeks turn his whole world upside down and it's scary.

Sandwiches from Subway are always sloppy and disappointing but you always forget that until you have your sloppy disappointing sandwich right in front of you

The baby has slept through the night TWICE now. I mean, besides those times several months ago that don't count any more ;)

Going out with a baby is really fun at first and then completely and utterly exhausting lol

I am going to have a beer today. I am very excited about this.

Last day of the long weekend, and I have a nice chorizo, chilli, and bean stew in the slow cooker. I've cleaned the bathroom, and I've made carrot muffins for the baby. NOWWWWwwww can I just rest? No? I have a baby? Argh.

I also hate cleaning the bath.

I wish I could say I was more surprised about John K, but he's said and drawn so much creepy and gross shit over the years. Still, shocked at how utterly terrible it all is.

I like the IDEA of making textiles, but I don't know what I'm doing at all. The last time I worked with textiles (beyond repairing split pants and fallen-down hems) I was in high school!

Made a colour edit to the tiled pattern this morning, but I still like both versions.

Later on, I might order some of this stuff from Spoonflower so I can sell textiles. I have a few people asking about fabrics. I'm not really sure what I'm doing though!
