honestly I feel like I could write more about this because I can't be the only one who finds this fascinating
@TonicBH that song came on during lunch one day last year and somebody at the table said "augh,i hate country music, why'd they make a country cover of this song?" And it was the original song.
i feel like that's more damning of country music not having its own sound anymore than anything wrong with the song itself.
this is especially interesting during the Guitar Hero/Rock Band music game boom, where oftentimes they'd just use a re-record because the original studio masters were unavailable or lost.
it's a fascinating rabbit hole to get lost in, tbh
