It finally happened - I got hit with the New Twitter Curse. I hate it - it's like a mashup of all my biggest UX Design pet peeves.

Patronizing, "Pacifying" design that has seas of whitespace and rounded corners and big bright buttons everywhere

Downplaying the actual content as much as possible to get you to look at ads/trends

Why is the left sidebar so big?? There's nothing immediately important there????

I think the worst part though is that there's no framing difference between the timeline and the two bars flanking it - it just looks like all the same information and it becomes unreadable

I'm surprised they didn't go all the fucking way and make the left sidebar a hamburger menu but with the exact same about of whitespace as now except when you expand it it just overlaps the timeline
