when i was a kid it seemed like people always said "we don't know for sure why the dinosaurs died but it was probably a big asteroid" and now the consensus is "it was definitely a big asteroid"

am i remembering wrong or did we find new evidence in the past 20 years

@monorail I think we found new evidence that reinforces that conclusion recently, like in the last year or two, but I also remember that it's just the latest bit of data we've found since the first time anyone said it could've been a space rock.
