one time i got into an argument on reddit about GOTO and i've never seen someone so blatantly admit that they have no idea what they're talking about while still thinking they're right

me: "GOTO is super easy to abuse but there are situations where it's the best tool for the job"

them: "no! GOTO is bad!"

me: "i challenge you to rewrite this C code without GOTOs without it being infinitely uglier. remember, it's C, so no exceptions"

them: "*attempts*"

me: "that doesn't work. it does something different in X case. this is genuinely somewhere that GOTO is the cleanest way to do it."

them: "no! you're arguing for GOTO!!! i'm getting a headache!!!!"

okay so you're just parroting GOTO is bad because you read it somewhere? and not because you actually understand the problems with it?
