Reminder to fellow programmers:

Make computers conform to people.
Stop trying to make people conform to computers.

Make computers help people.
Stop following the trend of making computers harm people.

@arielmt The feeling everytime I have to spend "learning people" to use horribly designed software. And they feel like the are progressing, while all they are doing is learning junk.

All I can say to them is "it's not your fault, I'm so embarassed to show you this crap, but at the best of my knowledge, the other way are even crappier...".

@arielmt I keep having to tell people beginning learning computers that it's not about understanding the computer these days as understanding the mindset of the person who made the interface (while internally cringing that people still make interfaces this bad!)

@arielmt Case in point: in the minds of most older people, "Cancel" is synonymous with "Delete" *not* "keep the same" as it is largely in software! Therefore, when a dialogue box says "Are you sure you want to delete? [OK] [Cancel]", this sort of thing can cause panics!
