Space Data Centers: We've all seen the headlines about SpaceX building "AI satellites" and Google testing orbital compute. The concept sounds amazing? Right? You bypass Earth's grid entirely, harvest 24/7 solar energy and use the vacuum of space for cooling. At least in theory space data centers do not use any land, no local water consumption and unlimited green energy despite massive upfront launch costs. So the question is how do you repair compute in space? (1/2)
@nixCraft Time to develop and install directional waste heat radiators on the space DC so they can be used as (admittedly slow) thrusters to break earth orbit, slow down in the solar orbit, and yeet itself into the sun by falling.
The techbros would do it themselves if their slop autocomplete frames it as a way to put the space DC on a more stable and predictable orbital trajectory.
