re: Fucking MapQuest!
I forgot because it's been so long. There was also that one time where Google Maps wanted me to turn down a street that didn't exist, that its own satellite view revealed didn't exist, and use this nonexistent street to reach another road by crossing a deep irrigation canal and raised railroad track that not only do exist but are active, instead of using a real cross street just a km or so south of the imaginary one.
#GoogleMaps has gotten worse as it matures .
It shows the family summerhouse about 150 ft offshore in the lake. I know for a fact it's much drier than that.
The verbal instructions for complex intersections (anything other than a perpendicular 3-way or 4-way intersection) are frequently confusing enough to cause wrong turns.
And pedestrian route instructions delight in instructing me to cross 4+ lane, heavily trafficked roads at unsignalized intersections rather than the intersection with lights and crosswalks - that is in the direction I need to go.

@arielmt A couple of years ago I was leaving a rural fairgrounds and following Google's GPS instructions. It had me turn right out of the fairgrounds, took me on this long 10 mile route that eventually had me exit out onto the road I started from about 500 feet from where I turned right originally.
