you sell a hacked game to the used game shop and 3 years later someone buys it and never plays it
Or like, there was a video about setting up "cursed" saves in Paper Mario that made the game unable to be completed, but if you buy Paper Mario used you're going to start a new save file, so you wouldn't even notice…
