i really like the term “neurodivergent”. definitely should be used more with folks who can’t get proper diagnoses but feel like something’s up with them!

i felt that way for a while and when i finally learned what “anxiety” was it was a world changing event. more folks should encourage self-identification before proper diagnosis. diagnosis is hard to get, too, but i like it as a coverall term for “the struggle is real up here” in the meantime while you’re figuring things out.

@chirpbirb yeah i feel like more and more people understand the term this way, and it elicits empathy for struggle even if the specifics are unknown

@atlasstorm i agree! i also feel it’s more of a rallying cry to get oneself more stable + get more support while they figure out what’s going on rather than a “cry for help” or “seeking attention”, which is what some people might mistake self-identification as.
