"Hey, you remember Such-and-Such?"
"No."
"No? They're related to So-and-so."
"Who's that?"
"You don't remember So-and-so? You were in kindergarden with them."
"Oh, you mean that kid who I only know of because they were there long enough to get their picture in the yearbook?"
"Yeah, them! Anyways, so..."

And then my mom continues to talk about Such-and-such as if I have *any* idea who the fuck she's talking about
