what language to learn on duolingo? (like...next year)
· Esperanto:
pros: da anarchist language (not really but really)
easy to learn
cons: might make it very difficult to learn spanish later on (too many similarities)
· Arabic:
pros: one of the most common languages among refugees in my country
cons: not currently interesting to me, i might just wait until i hyperfixate on it again
· Spanish:
pros: one of the most common languages, it would help me understand *a lot*. It will also be somewhat easy to find other material to study with
cons: once i learn spanish, it might be more difficult to learn esperanto
· Dutch:
pros: easy to learn, since i already speak english and german
i go to the netherlands sometimes and have considered living there
cons: not currently interesting to me (same as arabic)
·French
pros: again, a common language
i have learned it for a few years before, i might be able to get back in
currently very interesting to me (often re-occuring in my NN daydreams)
@ijyx As for the other two, if Arabic doesn't seem interesting to you right now, maybe just wait on that one, and I honestly don't think Esperanto is *that* worth learning. I mean, it's sorta nifty, but also kinda meh.
