@devurandom@cybre.space After doing a bit of research, no, that's not why it's called the Super Bowl. It's actually part of a tradition of "Bowl Games" which started with the Rose Bowl, named after the stadium in which it was played (which, incidentally, was named after a tournament that the Rose Bowl was a part of, The Tournament of Roses). Other bowls, like the Cotton Bowl were created due to the Rose Bowl's popularity. The Super Bowl is a part of this etymological lineage.
