A few months ago, I commented on an RTGame VoD that no weather extreme was safe from us calling it nothing, going so far as to explicitly mention -20°C and snowing. I was reminded of that comment today. Man, did that not exactly age well.
I feel like I angered a weather god with that remark. Like, "Oh, -20°C and snowing is 'nothing', is it? Okay, okay. monkey's paw curls" So, uh, sorry, fellow Texans?
I will still stand by that remark. I mean, have you seen how our state officials are handling it? Feels like half of 'em are trying to blame the whole thing on wind power. If this isn't classic "Texans claiming a weather extreme is nothing", I don't know what is.
And, tbf, I don't hold that view myself. I hate 40°C weather (the opposite weather extreme). Sure, other texans will call it nothing, but I cannot stand hot weather. (That's why I stay inside with all the air conditioning.) -20°C? A bit chilly for my liking.
