Pokémon
Today, I started a Pokémon X nuzlocke. So far, it's going well. I'm at geosenge and I've only lost two pokémon so far (and one was because I used it as fodder; such was the fate of Birb 2: The Birbening)! I've also only lost a couple of encounters to accidental KOs, but I've still got a fairly strong team, nonetheless. Tomorrow, I continue! For now, I rest. G'night!
A randomly reminder to make a #Backup.
Please remember that your data, your documents, pictures, creative files like art or music are stored somewhere. And the data that's lying around your devices (smartphones, tablets, notebooks, PCs, etc.) can break or you might delete something by accident.
So (if possible) make backups as to the 3-2-1 rule:
3 backups on
2 devices and
1 backup offsite
Also never forget to check your backups frequently. Make a restore and see if it works.
You're welcome.
Though, I do like Gemini and am currently trying to figure out how to create a version of my website using Gemini. Keep an eye out for that.
cw request
As we get into the holiday and New Years resolution seasons, there will be tons of social pressures to adopt diet and exercise routines (which are 95% likely to fail in the long-term). I imagine this will get worse as people continue to joke about the “quarantine fifteen” or whatever. There were tons of anti-fat sentiments when quarantine first started, and I’ve been dreading New Years resolution season more than ever because I’m sure covid is going to make it even worse.
Please please please CW your exercising, dieting, and weight loss efforts posts. Even if you think your post is neutral, it isn’t.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Everyone who has a body you dread looking like, and everyone recovering from eating disorders.
meds, nonse
Rating my meds:
Estradiol: Titty skittles. 'nough said. 10/10
Spiro: I piss a lot more now and from what I've read, it's not even that good of an antiandrogen. 4/10
Lithium: Constipation aside, it's wonderful. I love it. 9/10
Seroquel: Helps me sleep. Probably keeps me sane. 9/10
Effexor: Is it...helping? I mean, I'm bipolar. That's why I'm on lithium. All I know is it (probably) caused mania at one point. ??/10
Hydroxyzine: How long does this take to start working??? ?????/10
UPDATE: I have successfully gotten my mediawiki docker image set up and running! It only took me 10 hours... :P
Anyways, long story short, I've gotten nothing done today, but at least it's not as bad as that time I decided I was going to start writing a novel for NaNoWriMo and ended up installing Arch Linux instead.
And I tried using my existing server, but it's out of date. I had a spare mediawiki 1.30 install, but that wouldn't work with a template I was trying to import from wikipedia, so instead I tried upgrading to 1.35, but I can't get my Linux Mint install to update PHP past 7.0.x, and I need at least 7.3.x. So, I was gonna just use 1.31, but then I noticed the stuff on using docker, and I thought I'd try that, since I have docker installed on my laptop.
Anyways, I tried using docker, but that was tricky, then I tried using docker-compose, but that was throwing exceptions, so I tried rebooting, then I thought that maybe I should actually update my system, since I'd just been doing partial upgrades to get stuff installed. So, now I'm doing gigabytes worth of upgrades that I've been putting off. Honestly, I'm not confident this will solve the docker-compose issues
If you're wondering why I switched my network to 10.0.0.0/8, I was having issues with a VM server redirecting to 24.0.0.0/8 from 192.168.0.0/24, and I didn't realize that that was because of the mediawiki config, so I thought that maybe making that change would help. It didn't. And now I'm too lazy to change it back. Besides, it helps keep the stuff on my wifi network separate from the stuff on mom's, since my network pulls from hers (because signal's weak in this corner of the house)
I set off today with a mission to set up a mediawiki instance to use for keeping track of some worldbuilding stuff for the Kirai (and associated cultures) (kinda like I had previously done with a different fictional culture, the Valiri), and, well, I haven't succeeded, but I have got my little bit of the network here on the 10.0.0.0/8 subnet and I'm actually updating my computer for the first time in a while (I mean, I'm going from kernel 5.8.10 to 5.9.2)
The RIAA just got GitHub to ban open source YouTube downloaders.
They don't want anyone to share this code:
mplayer $(echo -s "http://youtube.com/get_video.php?$(curl $youtube_url | sed -n "/watch_fullscreen/s;.*\(video_id.\+\)&title.*;\1;p")&fmt=22")
Woops.
