My earth history professor misspoke when talking about how one of her graphs was out of date, and, well, she's not wrong, but I'm pretty sure she meant to say 7 *billion*, not 7

I may be a bit weird. I found a thing in my house that said "please recycle" but didn't have the number to indicate what sort of plastic it was and it kinda just threw me off on this giant tangent of going through my house finding out what all the (labeled) plastics are. Turns out, it's almost exclusively PET, HDPE, and polypropylene. Foods aren't in HDPE, but, otherwise, it seems to be fair game on what it's made of. So, yeah. Fun tidbit of the day.

*More specifically*, it was part of me talking about how they seemed to come to breaking up rationally, but emotions can make it hard to let go. Hence, reason is emotion's bitch.

it's been months and i still have that thing stuck in my head that's like "i am a nonbinary, bisexual, switch. i have never made a decision in my life and i am not gonna start now"

re: kinda -, re: stuff from my daily life, jobs, gender

I mean, they're more diplomatic than that. They don't just send a "fuck you" to my email, but you get the idea.

I expect these jobs to go the same way all the others have gone: months without contact then a single email: "sorry, but we've decided not to hire you."

stuff from my daily life, jobs, gender

So, in "Kat does something '''productive'''", I put in some more job applications. Now, normally, this wouldn't be too exciting. Woo. More trying to do barely meaningful work in the hopes of being able to afford continued existance. BUT! Something different happened. I actually filled in the "preferred name" as Katlynn. That's right, I (as best as I could) applied to jobs as myself. OWO

Re: no context

ngl, I laughed way too hard at this.

Also, I know I normally give context for my weird no contexts posts, but there is no context for this other than "my brain weird"

Obviously something needs to be done about these big internet conglomerates, but nationalizing ain't it, chief.

Re: lb

If you were (or still are) worried about Trump creating a Muslim database, you should be *very* firmly against nationalizing companies like Google. There are more examples that smarter folx than I could come up with, but, we'll just start with that

Re: lb

Nationalizing Google/Amazon/whatever won't fix their many, many issues. It'll just make it easier for the US govt. to exploit them for their own nefarious purposes

"nationalising x", global internet

Every time you call for nationalisation of [insert monopolistic tech company], you sound like an american arguing for imperialism.

Youtube/facebook/instagram/google/amazon/etc might be owned by american companies, but their power reaches and dominates globally.
Nationalising that will not give that power to "the people". It will at best give it to "the american people", and at worst to the state("s") occupying most of north america and waging perpetual war: USA

I generally dont reply to people's replies to my toots, not because I'm a dick or anything, but because I'm way too awkward to say anything back to you.
