@Some_Person @stackingstones@todon.nl it's a pretty common occurrence for parents to be oddly resistant to the idea that their kids are autistic, even if they're more than willing to acknowledge and accommodate their autistic child's needs. i suspect there's some kind of disconnect between what autism is like and the actual word autism

@Some_Person you're definitely describing all the things i'd generally associate with autism. like, if you wanted to call yourself autistic i'd say go for it? i can't speak for you/your personal experience, so i'm not gonna tell you you Are autistic, but you definitely seem to have described as much autistic behaviour as many other autistic folks. in the end, though, it's up to you whether to actually use the word

@wenom fun fact: i still doubt my identity all the time, for specifically this sort of reason. i can't really, y'know, prove my nb-ness in any concrete way
the best way i can explain how i know i'm nb is just....i usually don't feel like either strictly dude or gal. sometimes i'm more of one or the other or neither or both but it's like. as long as i'm not always strictly one specific binary gender, i'm definitely some flavour of nb?

@myconidiosyncracy i mean yes, but the thing i've noticed more is drugs just. not affecting me. and this is like, even true of my prescription medications like. there are some things where i've been cycled through every drug they offer on a triple dose because they couldn't find one that did Anything At All
