Three logicians walk into a bar. The bartender says, "Do you all want a beer?"

The first logician says, "I don't know."

The second logician says, "I don't know."

The third logician says, "Yes."

@Breakfast @ida real pagans have a notable tendency to be like "i worship this deity in these aspects, but you're free to pick your own ones", in our experience. so they might stick wrt their personal beliefs ("the loki i worship is male") but generally theyr v chill abt it all

@Breakfast @ida well frankly the only people likely to disagree are the fascists trying to disguise their bigotry as paganism so like. nobody whose opinions we actually care about

@BestGirlGrace friggen awesome. now if only χ didn't look like an x to most folks

re: robokink D/s shitpost, second-person

@VyrCossont@cybre.space im not uh....great at this sort of thing, but. if u enjoy writing it, then write it? does it really matter if you're doing this because other people are or because of some wellspring of desire deep within you

if it brings you joy, it is good. you're hurting no one

basically just do whatever makes you feel good and imma vehemently support u ok

it's really hard to try to determine a person's thought processes or general behaviour without starting to think like them. i mean yeah i'm an empathic mimic but still

idk for sure but in my imo the fact that actively seeking knowledge isn't an explicit tenet is intentional. moriel generally values the publicity of knowledge more than the knowledge itself, and their adherents are likely to be knowledge seekers anyway. so that way if they have to compromise on something, the tenets suggest what to do, without otherwise really changing any behaviour whatsoever

and yes, to those paying attention, this isn't a moral framework. ethics has no bearing on any of this, really, unless your ethical system is built around it instead of realistic concerns. don't do this

this is also a big part of why moriel is so scary. and possibly having the power to enforce compliance doesn't help

The tenets of knowledge can be summed up as follows: That one should strive always to advance truth to the full extent of one's capacity. To lie, or otherwise spread untruth is sin; equally sinful is to prevent the spread of truthful information. The practitioner is obligated, should they be aware, to counter any misinformation they find. Perhaps most damning is a refusal to actively encourage the spread of truth. Thus are the tenets of knowledge, and their sins.

sir... it's what we've always feared...

@Squiddy ok thats understandable. fair warning that finnish is one of those languages where it's complicated enough at times that i know native speakers who aren't fluent anymore
