+1 Extremely Garish Skirt get!
cons:
• the pattern clashes with itself much less anything i might wear with it
• it's a seasonal theme so like, even beyond that it doesn't work most of the time
pros:
• real cheap (bc it ugly)
• has pockets (small ones)
• very confy material

anyway i figure i wear this, like, around the house or something, since it looks horrible. but ig i have, like, new pyjama or sth?

Long-distance friendship as an Autistic person

@RadiantEmber@weirder.earth i understand this experience and all, but i'm not sure it's specifically an autistic thing—like, afaict, it's generally considered normal to drift apart from friends you don't see regularly. so i don't think people are likely to really be upset by it? that's just what i've picked up talking to nts so idrk but yeah

underrated miseries of being a Music Person: getting songs stuck in your head because your nose whistled the beginning of the tune

Really feel like we're in the sengoku period of mastodon. We're scattered to the wind, there is constant upheaval, I am going to be killed by one of my mutuals

don't say "he'll yeah" to me it is misgender. please say "they'll yeah"

re: autism

@stackingstones@todon.nl @Some_Person yep! but also, from experience, it's possible to go through the entire checklist of "this kid is obviously autistic" talking to their parent and specifically point it out and they just. don't get the message. unless they have an Official Diagnosis right there in front of them

well, i didn't manage to collect enough spoons to do everything today, but i had fun and was able to make a coherent plan to get the rest of it done soonish so i'll count this as a win

no one told you life was gonna be this gaaaay 👏👏👏👏

re: autism

@Some_Person @stackingstones@todon.nl it's a pretty common occurrence for parents to be oddly resistant to the idea that their kids are autistic, even if they're more than willing to acknowledge and accommodate their autistic child's needs. i suspect there's some kind of disconnect between what autism is like and the actual word autism

re: autism

@Some_Person you're definitely describing all the things i'd generally associate with autism. like, if you wanted to call yourself autistic i'd say go for it? i can't speak for you/your personal experience, so i'm not gonna tell you you Are autistic, but you definitely seem to have described as much autistic behaviour as many other autistic folks. in the end, though, it's up to you whether to actually use the word

and if you choose to id with the label, welcome to the community!

re: legitimate question regarding being non-binary

@wenom fun fact: i still doubt my identity all the time, for specifically this sort of reason. i can't really, y'know, prove my nb-ness in any concrete way

the best way i can explain how i know i'm nb is just....i usually don't feel like either strictly dude or gal. sometimes i'm more of one or the other or neither or both but it's like. as long as i'm not always strictly one specific binary gender, i'm definitely some flavour of nb?

@XanderPendrake eyy, welcome to the club! fallen london is uh. way too much of my life tbh

adhd, drugs

@myconidiosyncracy i mean yes, but the thing i've noticed more is drugs just. not affecting me. and this is like, even true of my prescription medications like. there are some things where i've been cycled through every drug they offer on a triple dose because they couldn't find one that did Anything At All

I learned about striking. I am very satisfied.
