*kai mera should not have been left in charge for three whole minutes voice* i remember this button is important but i have no idea what it does

....

ok mayb if i press the button another dozen times i'll figure it out

@00dani i'm not saying it doesn't make sense—quite the opposite, in fact—but i didn't expect a gorram research paper to be a callout post for me here

....frick. this study

it just mentioned that autistic folx are better at assessing "anthropomorphic stimuli" than human stimuli i'm

r u friggin telling me that my being autistic means it's easier for me to socialise with furries than with human people bc like. the h*ck is this callout post omgods

not, to be clear, complaining that i'm able to have friends who unconditionally respect me like this. it's h*ckin Awesome. it's just also really weird the way this is playing out

friggen wild how i know someone who's so disconnected from the very concept of gender roles that my Literally Actively Transitioning around them scans to them the same way as the average cis person doing....whatever it is the cis do

like, this is explicitly very much a decent person and been actively out there championing nb rights i just. i'm specifically not out to them bc they just take all of this at face value without questioning any of my decisions and so i have nothing to segue off of

@cute@deadinsi.de awful bold of you to assume you don't already

@skelltan@hellsite.site percussive might be specifically an acoustic thing, tho, given how it typically plays

@skelltan@hellsite.site i mean first off left-handed. just to get that out of the way

anyhow it's not really held at a different angle but percussive guitar is the first one that really comes to mind

@Lady i have absolute confidence that isn't the best you can do

@Bisexuhell@snouts.online @melt@mastodon.social you've sacrificed the ability to see certain colours and in exchange received the power to see things as they truly are. this is probably a curse

@TheFourEyed i legitimately like just 'left' or 'leftist' as a term for this. it's far from ideal, but it's simple enough, gets the point across, and changing what it means would require fundamentally redefining how people view politics

Setting: a classroom in the year 2210

"Okay, welcome to week two of 21st Century Media Studies. I hope you all have had time to look over the syllabus and acquire all of the listed course materials.

"Now, as you hopefully already know, the first decade of the 21st century was in large part shaped by the United States' reaction to a terrorist attack on the world trade center buildings in September 2001. But before we can really dive in to how Western film and television was shaped by the resulting conflicts, it's important to understand the cultural context of the existing media landscape.

"I suspect very few of you have heard of this first film that we're going to be looking at. Despite it's relative obscurity now, it was a significant part of the contemporary zeitgeist. I think this film is a really good starting point to understanding the mindset of most Americans in the early months of 2001.

"Fortunately for us, our library does have a copy that is playable on modern equipment. Pay attention now!"

someBODY once told me...

@melt@mastodon.social why is there so much handle who'd even perform that much

mythohistory re: lewdish shitpost

@skelltan@hellsite.site oh yeah, real pagans have been fighting white supremacists who try to pass themselves off as pagan for ages

mythohistory re: lewdish shitpost

@skelltan@hellsite.site i wouldn't know; i'm a mythologian more than a historian, and even then i have little interface with modern stuff. but yes, that's quite probable
