Yeah, sure, there's no problem playing "baby it's cold outside" every christmas because "it was a product of its time" but if I go around singing "let's get a few people tied up in trees and sacrifice them to odin this midwinter solstice" which was an incredibly popular song at the time (if a lot more pithy in the original ancient norse) then I get chucked out of lidl

"baby it's cold outside"

I don't care if it was a product of its time, she literally says "the answer is no" and he keeps going anyway, we have exited any putative era where that was acceptable

how to make any isekai good: make the protagonist a girl. its good now. even better if its trans girl wish fulfilment

"-given that generally encompasses someone who has ASPD + NPD and a generally negative traits. There is people with ASPD who are pretty much not harming anyone and are in a lot pain because even though they might not feel the guilt and remorse of their actions they’re still capable of feeling lonely and hurt due to the fact they can’t sustain relationships."] z/2

"Sociapath is just such a shitty term

Most of the time people are referring to people who likely have anti social personality disorder (or at least the behaviours they’re referring to, you still can’t diagnose someone)

+ psychopath is DEFINITELY a outdated term but if you’re gonna use an outdated term that is much closer to what they’re trying to describe,-"] z/1

the myth of the diabolical neighbor with no conscience, living in plain sight while he concocts his evil plans, is just an incredibly harmful myth.

lot of folks who live without a well-developed moral sense have shit lives forever plagued by broken relationships and legal/workplace trouble. it's not a liberating thing. these are not terms to just throw around.

info on why sociopath is an outdated as fuck term:

a sensationalist hack psychologist in the 80s used the term sociopath to justify the death penalty in cases where insanity would provide a stay of execution

the term is much older than the 80s, and has been used in more legitimate contexts. but robert hare is the guy who invented the "sociopath checklist," which was a huge hit in a courtroom setting, and subsequently in a lot of yellow journalism and IDTV "documentaries."

The reason I say that is because the term narcissist is really only ever used to explain toxic actions or traits. It’s not a diagnosis, so to me it doesn’t seem right to label people with personality disorders with what is essentially a slur in the psychiatric community. Rather, I would say that they have whatever diagnosis they have."] s/2

[text descript. screenshots of comment friend Amy Gardner said on facebook about this

"I tend to use terms like narcissist not just if they’re diagnosed, but if they’re diagnosed AND offenders or some kind of abuse and manipulate the situation in a way that they refuse to get help. Cluster B personality disorders are REALLY hard and there shouldn’t be any stigma in getting help."] s/1
