After a few conversations, here's my conclusion:
1. There's no AI/ algo here controlling the flow of what people view.
2. Birdsite's AI/ algo (perhaps intentionally?) favors content with high emotion/ confrontation/ anger because it elicits reality-TV reactions
3. My content (like me) is very non-edgy, non-confrontational. I'm happy to be sweet, analytical, funny and soothing.
4. Therefore, I'm invisible on birdsite, and the absence of an algo actually favors #chill #pleasant content here.
The witches in #Discworld are awesome. 😀 It's a lot of how I aspire to live (calling it a "philosophy" is wrong since Granny Weatherwax'd be the first to say "what are you like").

trans experiences
Every trans person experiences gender differently
You might find being trans painful, or something compulsive you couldn’t help but be
But other people may have found being trans more benevolently, by just experimenting and finding what made them the most comfortable
These experiences are not the same, but both are valid. And one is not better than the other, and one does not invalidate the other or say anything about what the other experiences
small request for info, TSA stuff, sexual assault, speaking pretty frankly about transmisic practices
hey so we're gonna be taking a flight in a bit under a month. it'll be like, our third time ever flying, and our first since being on estrogen or being an adult, so we know we should probably expect that they will sexually assault us for having a suspiciously not-binary-gender-matching body (if the process isn't wildly different when we use a wheelchair)
so, uh. can we get info on what to expect going through security on this front? ways to keep calm and if not avoid being triggered, at least ride it out and try not to be in too awful of shape?
additional note: we have a passport card with us as "female" and we think we're gonna only show that as our ID everywhere. we think this is a decent idea and should at least be slightly less awful misgenderings?
we were also gonna ask if ppl have experience traveling with a wheelchair but we think we've met like 1 other chair user here so w/e.
This is a good post because it could mean “I’m gay for everybody” or “I make everyone gay” and the real meaning is both
So, I guess it's time for me to request that people please CW Christmas stuff, because as a retail/service industry worker, seeing posts about that compounds existing stress in my life and kinda makes me not want to be here.
I'm not a "Grinch" or a "Scrooge" I'm just stressed the fuck out around this time of year and it'd be nice if folks would respect that. Thank you.
On trans bodies +
I love trans bodies and I really love being a part of a community that celebrates trans bodies.
This is really the only place where I can find the kind of transgressive joy that comes from posting a nude and instead of being met with awkwardness, revulsion, fetishization or silence, I am met by warmth, love, appreciation and kindness.
And I get to see that experience repeated when people post their nudes again and again and again.
Don’t ever forget how powerful that is.
there is nothing remotely stressful about meeting an autist with a less fluent social mask than me, except that the presence of an allist in the room makes my social-dynamic-compute-o-tron brain subroutine SPIKE in CPU consumption
a bug, not a feature.

note that if we ever make you uncomfortable in any way please tell us so we know to stop. we're not always good at figuring these things out on our own
