With a dash of contemporary music as an intro (and his exit, too), "Orby" comes spinning onto your screen. Looking more like a moldy robin egg than a planet, Orby gets the job done "guiding" you through your session. When there's an intermission in your routine, Orby will wait for you -- quiet as the vacuum of space.

If you want to add a little spice to your session, pick "Chaz." He makes a cool entry, walking in with his "horn" in a blue case, sets down the case, opens it, and then attaches his horn to his face. If you make a mistake in a program, Chaz will sound a sour note, pull on his horn and then it snaps back and slaps him in the face, or says, "Oh man!"

Counter: In every movie he has ever made, Jim Carrey is playing a serial killer

Show thread

Why hasn't anyone cast Jim Carrey as a serial killer?

uspol, ICE protests, +

RT @itsgoingdown
The groups protesting on Tuesday, like @NeverAgainActn, said they were going to shut down ICE.

They shutdown ICE.

request for $$, medical

I'm posting this because they haven't been getting many donations. They have a chronic injury they need to heal from, and need money so they can take medical leave.

Idk if anyone else is watching the CEO of Microsoft feed AR Minecraft chickens, but holy shit

abuse

My family is doing this thing where they send me a panicked, cryptic message about someone/something I love, then don't respond to any follow up questions online because they want me to call them.

Over the past 3 days, I've requested twice that they message me back. But they don't like it when I'm setting boundaries. They want me to call them.

I am over it.

If you say you love me, then treat me like I'm not allowed emotions or preferences or boundaries, you don't love me!

Why do I keep dating ppl who are into tentacles?

[avatar on lastfm since 2005 is literally a tentacle monster]

Any trans named "John" ~obviously~ named themselves after John Homestuck, the main character of Homestuck.

This thread brought to you by someone stating that "Keith" is the kind of trans masc name that is ~obviously~ inspired by a fictional character, thereby forcing me to look up the name "Keith" and find out that he's some guy on Voltron.

Anime nerds are simultaneously extremely self conscious that not everyone is into anime...and completely unaware that not everyone gets their references or slang, because they come from anime.

Btw, it's not an iPhone, because fuck Apple's overpriced walled garden.

Honestly, none of the devices I own nowadays are Apple.

I had to crowdfund for a Macbook to push shit to the app store, and the damn machine broke twice on me within a year.

In 2015, I started teaching myself how to code.

In 2016, I got accepted to a tech bootcamp. They had space for me in the iOS cohort, so I was, like, "Sweet!" even though I had been focused on web up until that point.

I spent the next few years learning how to be annoyed with Apple.

I actually like Swift, but I wish I could use it on non-Apple hardware, for non-iOS things.

Anyway, I was broke until a few months ago, which is why I got my first cell phone in 2010 & first smartphone in 2019.

an Amazon alternative: WorldCat

During the #AmazonStrike running on the 15th and 16th today, here's another alternative to know about:

WorldCat is a catalog of books and media that helps you find out if the book you want is available at *any* library systems near you.

Tips for using WorldCat: Don't forget that (in the US, at least), university and college libraries are open to the public, since your tax dollars pay for them. Remember about interlibrary loans, too: if a book's not available near you, you can ask for it to ne lent temporarily to your local library.
