Does anyone have that meme-image with different cyberpunk and steampunk derivatives sorted by decade?

It usually puts cyberpunk in our near-future, despite cyberpunk being "80's/90's near future".

Fun fact: Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep (the book behind Bladerunner) took place in 1991. And that was 23 years in the future when the book was written. 1991 is now 28 years in the past.

Cyberpunk is an alternate-history genre by now.

(I still would like that image)

@Bashabez5 Facebook's internal standards leaked a few years back and they're fucking wild. basically any generalization whatsoever is counted, but anything that gives even the most asinine plausible deniability is OK (e.g. "I don't hate all black people! just the children")

"We are working on a platform based on blockchain technology, which will have its own cryptocurrency called the Atari Token."

Just. Make. Normal. Hats.

Speaking of which, whoever owns Atari right now should just make it a fashion brand already. The only thing people want from Atari is the logo.

You don't even need to do something foolish like make a speaker hat.

Does anyone remember the Atari speaker hat?

No, because it was a bad idea.

when are the 'retro-inspired' games gonna do mode 7 games instead of all these 8-bitish games

I have a thrift store hoodie the inside of which is lined with brand names and logos, such as Skype and Bing.

When I was in Seattle the thrift stores had stuff like Microsoft board games and Microsoft dress socks

@mavica It is! It was a promotion between Microsoft and Sapporo beer, specifically the Sapporo Black variety.

"Gamers and a wacky mascot character on a couch" webcomics are solidly old enough as a genre to have retro nerd appeal.

who wants to shoot up chlorophyll and telomerase with me?

(telomerase is the stuff they put in the lobsters to make them immortal)

I used to be part of a online Risk playing website, but I left when I visited the forums and saw that one of the mods had a confederate flag avatar.

w.r.t. defederation

to people complaining about defederation

we have a right to kick out people from our friend groups

we have a right to kick out people from other, more physical, communities

so why is it a problem NOW? is it because you can't spread your toxic garbage to people who don't want it - unlike on twitter where moderation is so garbage you might just avoid detected and get the other person banned instead?

you have no power here. go be a dick somewhere else.

not that i think anyone here is particularly excited for this film, but if you still have any interest in Adam (adaptation of the book of the same name), this article is worth a browse - themarysue.com/adam-movie-arie

massive, massive cw for explicit transphobia, homophobia, etc. - the article contains a cw that has more details.

the treatment of trans extras - being lied to about what film, etc. - is new information that is pretty important, and also incredibly depressing. :(
