All other circumstances: very hard, next to impossible, we never considered this edge case
cannibalism
Although preservation is a necessary condition of eating someone who died centuries ago, could a European of this time period eat human jerky made from a recently hanged person and not feel any guilt?
Hm...was the cannibalism/not cannibalism distinction religious? Could a Christian eat a non-Christian? Something something eucharist
cannibalism
Europeans used to consume Egyptian mummies as medicine. During the same period they were actively doing this, they would frequently accuse indigenous peoples of cannibalism.
Why did they not consider mummy consumption cannibalism? Was it only cannibalism if the person being eaten had been alive recently? Was it about race? How does that relate to Europeans pretending that ancient Egyptians, who they were eating, were white? Or was it because mummies were preserved and not fresh?
Racism
Amazing thing I learned about my education just now: Bob Jones University, where my awful Christian schools got their textbooks, was given tax exempt status by Ronald Reagan even though they were segregating their school. Holy shit. I keep learning more and more shit about how awful my schools were
I have the feeling that the Ramones comparison is intended to distance them from from riot grrl. Which is, like, fair. Too many of those bands wound up being TERFs.
I mean, they play fast, poppy punk songs, but...if the Ramones are your first and last reference for that...there's not exactly a lack of more current bands that have taken on the same style?
i know everyone's communist here etc. but i think mastodon should respect the true blue blood heroes

"murder, she live-streamed"
It would be modern day reboot of 'murder, she wrote' where instead of a famous author, the protagonist is a social media influencer who solves murders she gets caught up in while making content.
The young 20-something protagonist would still played by Angela Lansbury, of course
Trans, guy of center, well over 18.
