It’s less that people must get more conservative as they age, and more that the privileges many conservatives enjoy enable them to live longer lives. And to have their voices heard - older Black people are rarely at AARP meetings, even though there are a lot of them.

My dad was in far left circles as a youth. He’s still far left. Most of his friends from back then are dead now - HIV, OD, too poor to afford meds.
We often say people must get conservative as they age, because older people are more likely to be conservative. But a big factor in this is that conservatives live longer than liberals. Almost 700,000 people died in the AIDS crisis - mostly queers & POC...

So a lot of people like TV and sports. A lot of people actually like conforming to their assigned gender. A lot of people want kids. A lot of people are straights. A lot of people are right-leaning-moderates. MUCH fewer people are actually gender conforming and straight and right-leaning-moderates who want kids and like TV and sports?
But this 25% is so is made out to seem like 98% of everyone, and it feels worse when you're a kid and not conforming is hours of isolation and persecution. Years.
