perhaps the disruptor weapon Vi has is something they originally stole while escaping from that corporate network and they've just heavily modified it since

it's also their only real weapon aside from a much weaker throwing knife program they have which appears similar to the disruptor but barely leaves a scratch

Egg formed on a node in a fairly large corporate network, gathered some data during coalescence that (if released) could spell disaster for said corporation.

probably visually represented by throwing knives or something

also perhaps some of the data they gathered during coalescence is potentially damaging to some corporation that's now trying to hunt them down? idk, just ideas

said offensive program *is* capable of causing some real damage if it hits the wrong thing, though

getting lots of backstory ideas for Vi but the one idea that's recurring in all of it is them having an offensive program that disrupts other offensive programs instead of damaging any attackers

because they're on the run from something and dont really have time for combat
